Connect is Lennon Tree's tool that turns internal linking from a guessing game into a guided process. In a few quick steps, you can see where your website talks about a topic but forgets to link to it — and fix those gaps before they cost you visibility or clarity.
This guide explains how to use Connect effectively, from your first scan to fine-tuning anchor text variety for long-term SEO health.

Start by entering the full web address of the website you want to analyse. This gives Connect permission to explore your pages and establish a foundation for the scan.
Choose the specific page you want to strengthen with internal links and paste its slug or path into the destination field. This is the URL that will receive new links from across your site.
Enter up to five keyword variations or synonyms that naturally relate to your destination page.
For example, if you’re strengthening a page at /gazebos, your variations might include pop-up gazebos, event shelter, garden gazebo, heavy duty gazebos, and folding gazebo.
This variety allows Connect to identify a wider range of unlinked mentions across your content, giving you a more complete picture of where improvements can be made.
Once you’ve added your keywords, click Scan. Within about a minute, Connect will crawl your entire domain, searching for every instance of those terms. The system will then generate a structured report showing two key groups:
Unlinked Mentions – places where the phrase appears, but no link currently exists to your destination page.
Linked Mentions – places where the phrase already links correctly to your chosen URL.
This gives you full visibility of your internal linking profile for that specific page, helping you see what’s missing and what’s already in good order.
You can export the results for external use or work through them directly in Connect.
Add internal links where they don’t yet exist, and make sure each one feels natural in its surrounding context. The process saves hours of manual trawling through CRM systems or content libraries, turning what used to be one of SEO’s most tedious tasks into a focused, manageable workflow.

Internal linking works best when it’s circular. Once you’ve added new links pointing towards your destination page, visit that page itself and make sure it links back out to the related pages you just edited.
This reciprocity creates balance, allowing authority to flow freely between pages. It’s a simple but often overlooked step that helps search engines interpret relationships across your entire site.
One of the most overlooked aspects of internal linking is anchor text diversity.
Connect not only shows you where unlinked mentions exist, but also reveals the anchor text used in existing links. This matters more than many realise.
Repeating the same anchor phrase across dozens of links can make a site’s structure look rigid or manipulative. By varying the language you use — changing tone, tense, or related phrasing — you achieve three key benefits:
Contextual accuracy – different anchors allow search engines to understand the full scope of what your content is about.
Natural link profile – varied linking language looks organic and builds trust in search algorithms.
Better user experience – unique anchors read smoothly and feel purposeful, rather than repetitive.
Strong internal linking isn’t about quantity — it’s about connection, relevance, and balance.
With Connect, you can maintain that balance effortlessly, ensuring every link adds value and every keyword carries weight.
Connect brings structure back to the surface. Every scan adds clarity, every link restores flow — a quiet improvement that makes the whole system stronger.
